Dear Students, India is passing through a phase of 'epidemiological transition'. There is an increasing trend in communicable and non-communicable diseases. Also, there has been a significant shift from hospital-care to community or home-based care due to economic reasons.
Hence, the need for having human-resource trained in health-related courses like nursing, health care attendant, OT attendant, ambulance attendant and so on to adequately support medicos and paramedics has been realized.
Vision
The Health Education and Research Council of India with its central office in New Delhi was established under Article 29 and 30 (1) of Constitution of India and incorporated under The Legislation of Government of India with an aim to minimize shortfall in trained and qualified paramedics.
